The Transportation Security Administration announced Friday fined to be imposed on passengers who disregard a federal mandate to wear masks while traveling. They announced a $250 fine for initial offenses and up to $1,500 for repeat offenses. They also warned that mitigating factors may warrant a fine outside this range.

Some airlines are also banning passengers who have broken the rules with Delta airlines reportedly banning more than 900 passengers to date.
