The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) has finally approved plans to construct a brand-new $2.9B terminal at JFK International Airport.

Terminal 6 is scheduled to open in 2025 and construction is set to begin in 2022. Once complete, Terminal 6 will offer ten gates and connect to JetBlue’s Terminal 5. In addition, it will offer spacious check-in and arrival areas, over 100,000 square feet of dining areas, retail shops and recreational space.

Port Authority chairman, Kevin O’Toole, noted: “Moving forward with a new Terminal 6 will create thousands of good-paying construction jobs critical to our recovery from the pandemic, while building the foundation of economic growth for decades to come.”
