Daily Parking Rates at Newark Airport to Rise in 2017

On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, the Port Authority revealed that, in an effort to manage the high demand of parking, it was revamping the cost structure for daily parking at Newark Airport as of January 8, 2017.  Port Authority officials shared that while the hourly parking rate of $8 will not change, the daily maximum parking rate at Newark’s closest central terminal lots will see an increase of $6 per day, rising from $33 to $39 per day. On-Airport Daily lots 1 and 3 will switch the 24-hour maximum from $24 to $27 and Lot P4 will increase from $27 to $34. JFK and LaGuardia were also hit with rate increases. The Port Authority is hopeful that the parking increases will encourage commuters and travelers to take mass transit, cab, or catch a ride to the airport.
